The type of survey you need depends on the property: 

• Level 1: The simplest survey, also referred to as a Condition Report. The property's state is indicated via a traffic light system.

 • Level 2: Also referred to as a HomeBuyer Report, this examination is appropriate for typical homes in decent shape. For example it could involve a more thorough examination of the drainage chamber and roof space. 

• Level 3: The most thorough survey, also referred to as a building survey. It works well for big, dilapidated, or old properties as well as odd or modified structures. It offers guidance on flaws, fixes, and upkeep possibilities. 

You should use a registered surveyor who belongs to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA).
